Your journey begins with a HelpMeBuild Project Discovery Consultation which define your goals, size scope and specification of the home, incorporating the site features, assessing suitable build methods, and confirming feasibility via the 4 levels of HelpMeBuild Project Audits, culminating in a Documentation Package.

Level 1: Project Discovery - 30minute Consultation  

Level 1 Project Audit

What’s included

  • Delivering an itemised Provisional Project Total for your entire project defined by your site and the house size, scope and specification - (this is not based on a specific floor plan yet) including the House features, the Site factors, Documentation, Consents, Infrastructure & Site Improvements.

  • Your customised Project Risk Register

 

Cost: Free

 

Outcome: Confidence that your project is realistic, feasible and aligned with the right build method, and fits your budget and site before committing to the next stage.

Level 2: Site Verification Audit                           

Level 2 Project Audit

What’s included

  • Location Site plan, showing site boundaries, access & building location, and service connection points if available.  

  • Risk Management Register - Early Identification of Site & Project Risks and unknown costs

  • Council Compliance Verification & Viability Checks - a full check of the local council district plan and regulatory requirements, for your site.

  • Certificate of Title - Easement and Covenant check

  • Viability of the Fees-Free DMRU Consent Process (under 70sq m secondary dwellings)

  • Updated Provisional Project Total

Cost: $700 

Outcome: A pathway that reflects your site, your build method, and your budget - giving you confidence to proceed to Level 3.

Level 3: Verified Project Audit            

You need to have chosen a concept plan to work with - you can choose from TaylorMade’s Pacific and Tasman Collection - free of charge, or supply a concept plan yourself - either your own concept, or a concept plan you like from elsewhere. 

What’s included

  • Site Visit & Consultation

  • Site and Concept Plan, Site contours, house location and layout. 

  • Verified Project Audit - ready for finance/bank application

  • Contingency Allowances

  • Independent Statement of Project Feasibility

Cost: $5,800 - $8,800 (subject to project complexity)

Outcome: A complete, technically sound documentation package - including engineering and infrastructure - that forms the foundation for consents, product selections, and final pricing.

Level 4: Shovel-Ready Documentation Package    

Ownership of all documentation - plans, reports & documents is an asset that rests with you - not a builder!

Based on the Documentation Package Items selected during Discovery, this cost will vary from project to project, however once we have got to Level 3 Project Audit, the documentation package will have a fixed price cost covering

What’s included

  • Working Drawings, Engineering and technical refinement

  • Specification Schedule - product selections, upgrades, and specifications signed off by client

  • Site Reports - Geotech, Wastewater, Stormwater

  • Site Survey, corner and datum peg

  • Building Consent Documentation & Application (where required)

With the Shovel-Ready Documentation Package complete, your project becomes fully confirmed and ready for;

  • Tendering with local Building Companies / Builders to obtain a Fixed Price Quotation​​

  • Supplier scheduling and lead times aligned

  • All clarifications resolved before construction via Variation.

Builder Selection - Project Tendering                                     

Selecting a Builder once the Documentation Package is complete.

 

Any builder offering a home for your type of project will jump at the opportunity to provide you with a fixed price quote for the entire project, because at this stage instead of working with ideas, you own the Documentation Package, fully defining the entire project, along with all necessary reports and engineering.

This means you can compare the quotes, and obtain finance approval before selecting the most suitable builder and signing a Contract.

HelpMeBuild.nz operates nationwide and through our network of building professionals can certainly assist in choosing the right builders to provide a quote based on the specifics of your project.

Outcome: Signed fixed price Building Material Supply Contract and Construction Partner Contract with your local builder.
